Guidelines For Purchasing A Property In Ireland
If borrowing, contact Financial Advisor / Mortgage Broker to establish your purchasing power.
Decide on area and location that most suits your needs (taking into consideration proximity to schools, shops, churches, GAA grounds and ease of access to place of employment, etc.)
Establish average property prices in your chosen area, by contacting professional local agents.
Arrange viewings with agents (usually giving at least 24 hours notice).
Having selected the property of your choice, negotiate price and closing date with the agent and pay required booking deposit (Booking deposits are refundable until contracts are signed).
Engage the services of a solicitor to carry out conveyancing of property you are purchasing.
Arrange engineer and mortgage valuer to carry out survey on property being purchased.
After survey solicitor will require contracts to be signed and the balance of 10% of the purchase price to be paid.
The sale should close on agreed date, after the balance of outstanding monies have been paid, you will recieve your keys.
Congratulations on your NEW HOME!
